Start with a free 15-minute video meet & greet. Then book a session at their workshop, your home, or a community space.

Pay by the hour

$25–$75 per session, billed after you attend. Mentors keep 85%. Cancel free up to 24 hours ahead.

Government-issued photo ID matched to a live selfie. No anonymous accounts, no stand-ins.

Nationwide and county-level criminal records, sex offender registry, and global watchlist screening through our partner Checkr. Re-run annually.

Reference calls
We speak with two non-family references by phone — former colleagues, students, or community members who can vouch for how they work with kids.

In-person interview
A Heirloom team member visits the mentor's home or workshop, meets them face-to-face, and confirms the space is safe and suitable for a child.

Ongoing accountability
Every session can be reviewed and reported by the parent. Any concern — even a small one — is investigated within 24 hours.
